I tried accupunture for the 1st time with DR Salah onboard a cruise to New Zealand = he's sold me = I have cronic back pain, and 2 treatments saw me able to walk and dance even, when normally I would be bed ridden ! my recommendation is axccupuncture, diet, exercise and hebal treatements !

Hi. I find it fascinating that not piercing the skin has beneficial effects as well as the eacupuncture. You may be interested to know that there are many many needle techiques and styles within the acupuncture systems worldwide. Ranging from strong neddle sensation generation, to non insertion techniques. The toothpick technique could fall into this latter style.

The mechanism for acupuncture seems to be many fold - with regards to placebo - I agree that it would have died out years ago and it has just not been my experience . . .

I agree with your sentiments. Acupuncture has been around for over 2000 years, surely anything that was purely placebo in action would have died out long before now. Unlike toothpicks - which may work for a month or two... The World Health Organisation classifies lower back pain as one of the areas in which acupuncture is most effective - and thats been demonstrated through clinical trials - just as most western medicine treatments have been judged. Trust Acupuncture. I know I do. Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean you shouldn't try it before you make your decision on whether or not it works for you.
